The Jim Haley Collection
In the past 15 years I have had many opportunities to photograph dancers for recital portraits, on stage performing, and best of all, in my studio. This collection includes some of that work. However, each image in this collection has its own unique impact and its own story. I did not limit myself to any particular subjects or themes, though I have certain preferences. Dance and dancers is featured, but I also have other portraits, outdoor scenics, wildlife, and still life photography.
In this collection we have the wrinkled, dried roses that, after more than a year, still hold the color from the dyes they were fed. Their beauty holds up even with age, but with a touch of sadness. We also have a patriotic message from the image of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flying in concert with the moon. We have all seen the battleship U.S.S Alabama, but under these dark clouds and dramatic lighting she appears as if she is somehow back in the fighting again. The portraits and dancers all have a beauty and grace the speaks for itself. All I will say for the remainder is only to look and see what you can find!
